We conceded silly goals: Ndiraya

Ngezi Platinum Stars coach has lamented how his team conceded two late goals in a 1-2 defeat to championship rivals FC Platinum on Saturday.

Madamburo were one goal up with two minutes left on the clock when they gave away a penalty which was converted by Winston Mhango before substitute Never Tigere sealed the victory for the visitors in last minute of the game from a well-struck free-kick.

The result ended Ngezi’s 31-match home unbeaten run which started in August 2016.

“It is a disappointing result for us, I thought we had done enough to collect three points, but due to a case of loss of concentration, we conceded a silly penalty.

“The free goal, keeper Tatenda Munditi didn’t anticipate the shot. I think it’s all to do with experience. He has done well, but he failed to deal with that freekick.

“We lost last week and normally when you lose there is a possibility of losing your next game.”

Madamburo succumbed to their first defeat of the campaign in Match-day 15 when they fell 1-0 to Bulawayo Chiefs.

There are now second on the log, three points behind new leaders FC Platinum.
