Ten-man CAPS fascinate Chitembwe

CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe was impressed by his team performance when they beat Chapungu FC 2-0 in a match played at Ascot Stadium on Sunday.

The Green Machine finished the match with ten men after Justice Jangano received a straight red card for stopping a goal-bound shot with his hands.

Chitembwe said: “What impressed me most is the character of the team playing with ten men, in the modern football it is not easy to play with ten men. I think our game management was good.

“But I still feel we have a lot of work to do, and there is a long way to go before we attain perfection.”

Makepekepe went into the lead on minute 35 courtesy of Simba Nhivi’s header. Brian Muzondiwa doubled the cushion on the stroke of half-time, robbing the ball from the keeper.

Chapungu were then awarded a penalty from Jangano’s incident, and goalkeeper Chris Mverechena saved Allen Tavarwisa’s kick.

The result put CAPS United in the fourth position with 29 points
