Kundai Benyu has started training with Celtic’s first team after returning from a six-month loan at Oldham Athletic.
The 20-year-old Zimbabwe international joined the Scottish side in August last year but struggled for game time. The former Ipswich man only played a handful of games before joining the English team on loan in January, and again he failed to leave his mark Oldham.
According to Celts Are Here, a Celtic FC Magazine, Benyu took part in the first team’s training last week.
Benyu is now hoping for a fresh start at Celtic Park but faces stiff competition from Scott Sinclair, James Forrest, Lewis Morgan, Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie for a place in Brendan Rodgers midfield.
Celtic, who returned to first-team training on Tuesday in preparation for their upcoming Uefa Champions League qualifiers, completed a historic double treble last campaign and Rodgers’ men will be looking to improve even further in the forthcoming season.
