Striker Thomas Chideu says he opted to join reigning champions FC Platinum because of its professionalism.
Chideu who was offloaded by South African side Golden Arrows was heavily linked with a return to Highlanders whom he trained with for some days but surprised many when he instead signed for the Zvishavane side.
“I chose FC Platinum because they are the club that is closer to the South African clubs in terms of professionalism. My coming here is not a step backwards, it’s not much of a difference,” said Chideu.
The former Ajax Cape Town also said that he was not putting himself under pressure to prove himself at his new club.
“I am not under any pressure to prove anything. If I am going to score goals its a bonus, but my main aim is to help the team win something at the end of the season.”
Chideu might make his debut at Mandava stadium when FC Platinum hosts ZPC Kariba.
