ZPC Kariba revelled in their first emphatic win of the season after beating Triangle 3-1 at Nyamhunga stadium.
A double strike by the country’s leading marksman David Temwanjira and a goal from left-back Munyaradzi Kunyarimwe gave coach Godfrey Tamirepi something to savour.
“This is our first emphatic win this season, and we cherish it so much. We came into this match needing nothing short of a victory because of our position on the log where we are still in the relegation matrix. That’s why you saw our formation was offensive from the start because we needed goals,” said Tamirepi.
” I am happy that we managed to win this game because at this stage of the season you can’t afford to drop points, especially when playing at home. Of course, we could have scored more goals, but again you can’t complain after such a win,”.
ZPC Kariba had found it hard to grind results at home with most matches ending in stalemates, but the display against the Sugar Boys brought renewed optimism going forward.
Triangle whose promising season has been punctuated by inconsistency got their consolation through Lameck Nhamo from the penalty spot.
