NFD side sets target for new coach Rahman Gumbo

Witbank Spurs have set targets for their new coach Rahman Gumbo ahead of the new season.

The 2018/19 campaign gets underway this weekend with Spurs away to Real Kings.

According to the Chronicle, club CEO Freddy Mapulane said the 54-year-old gaffer who joined the NFD side in July after leaving Hwange-based Division One side Makomo FC has been tasked to lead the team to promotion to the PSL.

“The boys look sharp and ready for the challenge and while we can’t speak much about the friendly matches they have played as part of the preparations they seem to be understanding the coach very well.

“His (Gumbo) mandate is obviously to take the team to the Premiership,” Mapulane told the newspaper.

Meanwhile, Gumbo will work with follow Zimbabwean players including Cleopas Dube, King Nadolo as well as goalkeeper Edmor Sibanda.
