Sydney Linyama has been sacked by Eastern Region Division One League side Manica Diamond for lack of discipline.
Linyama who has a history of truancy which saw him being fired previously at Chicken Inn and Dynamos went away for six weeks without approval.
“Yes, we have terminated his contract because we want to maintain discipline at the club. We can’t have a situation where players behave as they wish. A hearing was done, and the executive wanted to be lenient with him, but coach Luke Masomere stood his ground and refused to work with him anymore,” said a source at the club.
Manica Diamond also released some senior players Jacob Muzokomba and William Mapfumo during the mid-season transfer window. Diamond are firm favourites to win the championship and play in the premier soccer league next year.
