Ndiraya abandons ‘beautiful’ football

Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Tonderayi Ndiraya says he is no longer concerned about how his team plays as long as he gets maximum points that pushes him towards the league title.

Madamburo are playing away to rejuvenated Chicken Inn this afternoon, in arguably the biggest fixture of the weekend, and a slump will give breathing space to log leaders FC Platinum who are favourites against fellow Midlands side Chapungu at Mandava Stadium today.

“At this stage of the season, it’s no longer about how beautiful you play, it’s now more about results. We just need to continue getting results even if we play badly,” said Ndiraya.

“We know what we are up against today, we have a good Chicken Inn side which has been doing well of late. We are, however, determined to fulfil the goal that we set at the start of the season, which is to win the league title. For us to win the title we need to win games, and this one is no exception.”

Ngezi Platinum Stars who are two points behind FC Platinum have a seven-point gap between them and third-placed Chicken Inn.
