Baroka CEO speaks on Chawapiwa future

Baroka FC Chief Executive Officer Morgan Mammila says they will only allow Talent Chawapiwa to leave the club next year.

The 26-year-old is in the second season of his contract after signing a three-year deal with the Limpopo side in 2017.

According to The Herald, Mammila said: “He will move at the end of the season. Definitely, we will allow him to move to another club.

“For now we have set our targets at a top-eight finish and playing, at least, in one Cup final.”

Chawapiwa had an impressive debut ABSA Premiership season and attracted interest from several clubs including Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Last month, Baroka placed a price tag in the range of R3 to R5 million for any club interested in the player during the transfer period.
