FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza says they need to respect Mutare City Rovers ahead of their league match on Saturday at Mandava Stadium.

Pure Platinum Play are currently four points clear on top of the table while Rovers are sitting in the relegation zone.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Mapeza said: “It’s about the mental strength. The moment we go out there on Saturday thinking Mutare City is down there with clubs like Bulawayo City and Nichrut, I think we will be troubled.

“We need to give them the respect they deserve. The respect we give to Dynamos, Highlanders, CAPS United or Ngezi should be the same to that we had to give to Mutare City.

“We don’t want to talk about complacency at this time of the season. They are one of the teams playing in the PSL, so we need to give them the respect they deserve.”

Mutare City are coming from a 1-0 win over title contenders Ngezi Platinum, and they will be hoping to build from that.
