Former Warriors player Joel Luphahla has backed the national team ahead of the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers against Congo on Sunday.
Luphahla believes despite the injuries which had ruled out a couple of players, the squad is capable of bringing a result in Brazzaville.
“I have so much belief in these boys, talking of the likes of Musona, Khama Billiat, Rusikes, Ndoro as well,” he told The Chronicle.
“I think they can qualify for Afcon, they have a very good team and some of these boys play for big clubs, they just need to be focused and have the desire to qualify.
“These boys can surpass what we did in 2004 and 2006 as well as surpass what (Callisto) Pasuwa did with the team in 2017.”
Zimbabwe are currently leading the Group G with three points while Congo are in third with zero.
