Harare City defender suffers serious facial injury during Nichrut game

Harare City left-back Bright Chayambuka suffered a facial injury during the game against Nichrut on Wednesday and is admitted at Midlands Private Hospital in Gweru.

The full-back sustained a broken nose when he was elbowed in an off the ball incident towards the end of the game.

According to the information released by the club, team doctor Sowman Mudariki was on Wednesday night still monitoring Chayambuka’s progress at the hospital.

The Sunshine Boys lost the match 3-0 with the first goal coming on the 49th minute through Shepherd Sithole before Munyaradzi Diro-Nyenye beat his own goalkeeper Ryan Harrison. Frankson Bushiri sealed the game two minutes into additional time.

Speaking after the encounter, coach Mark Harrison was not happy with how the referee handled the tie.

“It was a bad example for Zimbabwean football today, too many things going on. We had two penalties ignored which should have changed the game completely.

“Then the antics of the ball boys hiding the balls behind the advertising boards, throwing balls away, delay, delay, delay,” Harrison fumed.
