S.A based Zim players round-up

Baroka FC winger Talent Chawapiwa put-up a man of the match performance in 2-0 victory over Golden Arrows in the first round of the Telkom Knockout tournament.

The 26-year-old played for 88 minutes and assisted the other goal. His team-mate and goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeza also started in the game. Arrows trio of Danny Phiri, Knox Mutizwa and Devine Lunga did not feature. Phiri and Lunga are carrying injuries.

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande captained his side as they advanced to the next round of the competition by beating Black Leopards 4-2 on penalties. Katsande was the first to take a kick in the shootout and he converted.

Defender Teenage Hadebe was not part of the squad while Khama Billiat missed out after he was reported to have picked a back injury during the international break.

SuperSport United striker Evans Rusike is also yet to recover after suffering an ankle injury in the weekend before the international break and he did not take part in the match against Polokwane City. His team-mate Onismor Bhasera played the whole game.

On the other hand, City goalkeeper Goerge Chigova was sidelined with a knock suffered on national team duty, but Walter Musona came on as a substitute.

Bidvest Wits forward Terrence Dzvukamanja and Pirates midfielder Marshall Munetsi did not play over the weekend while Ronald Pfumbidzai of Bloem Celtic featured for his side.
