The 2018 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions, FC Platinum have been granted the rights to be officially crowned winners on their second from last game against Ngezi Platinum Stars which is next on the schedule.

FC Platinum made the request last week, and the PSL confirmed it today.

“The Castle Lager PSL Championship Trophy will be presented to the 2018 winners FC Platinum after their match against Ngezi Platinum Stars FC at Mandava Stadium on Saturday 17 November 2018,” reads the statement.

“The runners-up, Ngezi Platinum Stars, will also be presented with their silver medals during the same occasion.”

Under normal circumstances league champions get their medals and trophy on the last day of the season on which FC Platinum are due to play Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium.

Player sources told Soccer24 that Pure Platinum Player made the formal request to be crowned champions on their home soil.

“We were told that the executive made the request last week. However, we are yet to be furnished on PSL’s response,” said a senior player who requested not to be named.
