Nichrut has disbanded just a few days after the club was relegated.

Owner Nicholas Gara addressed players after the final match against Dynamos saying they were free to look for new clubs as he was not going to continue with football next season.

“The owner told us to start finding other teams because he was no longer going to continue. It’s tough but that is what is there, so we are looking for other teams,” said one player.

Nichrut joins a list of clubs that folded following relegation after their owners have been drained financially.

Monomotapa, Gunners, Highway, Quealaton, Sporting Lions, Lengthens and Douglas Warriors are some of the teams that folded after their owners could no longer afford to sponsor football.
