Liberty Chakoroma has extended his stay at the Ngezi Platinum Stars with another year, according to H-Metro.

Chakoroma’s contract was expiring at the end of the year, and several clubs including new boys Manica Diamonds were interested in him.

Dynamos were also reported to be interested in signing the player.

The Ngezi skipper had a great a season with a chance to make it among the soccer stars of the year but was ineligible for selection following an incident with the referee.

“I chose to stay. I had offers on my plate, but I saw it fit for me to stay at Ngezi. For some reasons that I can’t tell you, staying at Ngezi was ideal for me,” Chakoroma said.

Meanwhile, other players in the likes of Godknows Murwira, Tichaona Mabvura, Walter Mukanga, Xolisani Moyo and Donovan Bernard are yet to renew their contracts.
