The country’s three biggest clubs – Dynamos, Highlanders and CAPS United – will be in action this afternoon as they carry on with their pre-season preparations.
The Glamour Boys and the Green Machine face each other in the Charity Cup Challenge at National Sports Stadium. The match which has been organised by Passion Events will see the winners walking away with $20 000 while the losers pocketing $15 000.
Both teams are likely to field their new signings with Dembare set to parade a whole new-look side after several players from last season’s squad left the club. The likes of Edward Sadombo, Ghanaian forward Robert Sackey and Cameroonian duo of Vincent Mbega Herve and Ngahan Claude Junior are all expected to feature for Dynamos.
CAPS United, on the other hand, have former Highlanders pair of Gabriel Nyoni and Newman Sianchali among their new players.
The match kicks off at 3 pm.
In Bulawayo, Bosso will play Chicken Inn in a friendly derby match at Barbourfields.
The encounter was supposed to be a ZNA Charity Shield final but the organisers, the Zimbabwe National Army, pulled out last week. Striker Prince Dube along with other new signings are expected to make their official debut after rejoining the club at the end of last year.
The Gamecocks also have new players, but most of them made their first appearances for the team when they played at an invitational tournament in Malawi early this month.
