Dynamos coach Lloyd Chigove has likened the impact of new boy Ngandu Mangala to that of Diego Maradona during his time with Italian side Napoli.
Mangala scored a beautiful second half brace which gave Dynamos a winning start to the season over debutants Mushowani Stars.
Chigowe said just like how Maradona took Napoli from an ordinary side to world stardom, Mangala took responsibility to lead Dynamos at a time they looked ‘ordinary ‘ against an impressive Mushowani Stars.
“Mangala is a talent, he took responsibility in the absence of captain Edward Sadomba to lead the team. He is like what Diego Maradona did when he joined Napoli and took them from an ordinary team to a big team in the world. So hats off to Mangala Ngandu,” said Chigowe.
Mangala could, however, not finish the match against Mushowani as he was taken off with an ankle injury. He left the stadium with a heavy limp, and it has not been ascertained yet if he will be fit for the next match against Hwange at Rufaro stadium.
