CAF appoints new SG after sacking Egyptian Amr Fahmy for accusing Ahmed Ahmed

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Moroccan Hajji Mouad as its new General Secretary replacing Egyptian Amr Fahmy who was dismissed from the position last week.

Fahmy’s sacking comes after he reportedly accused his boss Ahmad Ahmad of bribes and misuse of hundreds of thousands of dollars. The Egyptian also claimed that Ahmad sexually harassed four female CAF staff, whom he did not name.

CAF confirmed the new appointment on Tuesday following an Executive Committee meeting held in Cairo on 11 and 12 April 2019.

The continental body has also revealed the amicable departure of Deputy General Secretary in charge of Administration and Finance, Essadik Alaoui.
