Chigowe rues missed chances

Dynamos coach Lloyd Chigowe has rued the chances his side wasted in the Independence Cup final against Highlanders on Thursday.

The Glamour Boys lost the encounter 2-0 as they failed to retain the trophy they won in 2017.

Ngandu Mangala and Tawanda Macheke created several chances throughout the game with the former getting as close as hitting the woodwork. But the biggest chance came in the 70th minute when Jimmy Tigere failed to convert a penalty which could have seen his team getting back into the game.

Speaking after the game, Chigowe picked some positives from the game but felt the team needs to improve.

“The positives I picked from this match is that we are creating chances and also that we used some youngsters who showed what they can do, but obviously we need to sit down and look at ourselves in the mirror and see what really is going on and how best we can overcome this challenge we are facing,” the Dynamos coach said.

Dynamos will return to action on Monday with a league encounter against Herentals at Rufaro Stadium.
