Warriors midfielder Kudakwashe Mahachi says the Cosafa Cup is not a small tournament and will try hard to help the team retain the trophy.

Mahachi who missed the 2-0 victory in the quarterfinal round against Comoros last Saturday will also miss action this evening in the last 8 round since he is not registered for the competition.

“We have quality players in our team, so I think we need to defend our cup,” the midfielder told the reporters on Wednesday.

“They always say it’s a small cup (Cosafa Cup), there is no small cup, we just need to continue winning the games and defend it.”

The Warriors play Zambia in the second semi-final of the regional tournament this evening. Kick-off is at 7:30 pm and SuperSport will broadcast the match live.
