Cosafa Preview: Zim vs Zambia

Warriors will this evening face Zambia in a third consecutive campaign at Cosafa.

Zimbabwe who are using the competition as part of their Afcon preparations clash with their northern neighbors at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban in the second semifinal encounter of the tournament.

Kick-off is at 7:30 pm and DSTV will broadcast the match live on SuperSport 4A.

Coach Sunday Chidzambwa will miss the tie after he returned home on Sunday to attend the funeral of his father.

Rahman Gumbo will take charge with Lloyd Mutasa as his assistant.

The caretaker coach is likely to field a different team from that one which won against Comoros.

The players expected to start this evening include captain Knowledge Musona who came on as a second half substitute in the previous game, Teenage Hadebe, Marvelous Nakamba, goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze and Admiral Muskwe.

Zambia, on the other hand, have a youthful squad made up of mostly U23s.

The Warriors have dominated the tie in recent years as they last succumbed to a loss in an open play in 2016.

Meanwhile, should the Zimbabwe triumph in this game, they will face the winner between Lesotho and Botswana in the final scheduled for Saturday.
