The Warriors’ Group A rivals, Uganda, recorded a morale boosting 1-0 victory over the Ivory Coast in Abu Dabi on today.
Faruku Miya’s first half penalty was all that the Cranes needed to upstage the Elephants and finish off their Abu Dabi tour in high spirits.
Miya also came close to opening the scoring in the 10th minute but his header was well saved by the Ivorian goalkeeper.
Their three- week long training camp in Abu Dabu came to an end and their next destination will be Cairo, Egypt, where they open their AFCON campaign against DRC on June 22 and then play the Warriors on the 26th.
