The Warriors camp has been thrown into turmoil ahead of their AFCON 2019 opener against Egypt due to money issues.
Warriors players have threatened not to fulfil the match set for 10pm (Zimbabwean time) tomorrow if they don’t receive their promised dues from ZIFA.
Warriors players that have spoken to Soccer24 on condition of anonymity have confirmed the stand off and stated that all players are adamant that they will only take to the field if the situation is addressed by getting the money in their pockets ahead of the game.
The main dispute is money that was supposed to be paid to each player after the Warriors international friendly against Egypt.
In addition the Warriors are keen to have their daily allowances and appearance fees for the tournament sorted out after unfulfilled promises were made before the tournament.
ZIFA has been making frantic efforts to calm the situation that threatens to derail Zimbabwe’s campaign at the continental showcase and has been trying to reach an agreement with the squad on Thursday afternoon.
