Zimbabwe’s head of delegation at Afcon Farai Jere says the Warriors will receive US$5 000 before the end of today.
The national team players and Zifa held a meeting last night over the payment of outstanding allowances but reached a deadlock.
The association failed to agree on the Warriors’ demands to be paid US$12 500 and threatened to withdraw from the Afcon tournament.
Speaking to reporters on Friday afternoon, Jere assured the nation that the team will fulfil its must win-Group A game against DRC on Sunday.
“I can confirm that we held a meeting with the players over allowances which the boys are owed.
“However $5 000 will be wired today which will take the total amount paid to the players to slightly under $20 000.
“I want to assure the nation that we are going to play our final group game on Sunday and we are looking forward to a positive result.”
Zimbabwe need to win their next game to stand any wide chance of progressing to the next round.
