Warriors bullish ahead of make-or-break DRC clash

Warriors players are oozing with confidence ahead of their make-or-break AFCON 2019 Group A decider against the Democratic Republic of Congo tomorrow.

 

Sunday Chidzambwa’s troops are third on the  table below leaders Egypt and Uganda, and a win by a 3 goal margin tomorow will even enhance their chances of finishing second depending on the result of the Pharoahs – Cranes game.

 

Defender Alec Mudimu assured the nation  that they are ready to fight for a place in the  round of 16, a feet which can also be achieved courtesy of a best third placed spot.

 

“I can assure you we are ready to play for the country of Sunday,” Mudimu told Star FM. 

 

Star forward Khama Billiat, who finished off a slick Warriors move to restore parity against Uganda, believes this game presents the chance to make history by proceeding for the first time to the round of 16, a chance they will take.

 

“We need all three points, I believe in the guys and we are going all out for a win, with the pride of being Zimbabwean, this is our only chance to break the history,” said Billiat.

 

Captain Knowledge Musona believes everyone is raring to go for this do or die encounter.

 

“Everyone is focused on making the fans happy. The match is not going to be easy, we will fight to beat Congo to qualify for the next round,” he said.
