The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League action enters Match-day 15 this afternoon with six games lined-up.
Champions FC Platinum will be hoping to maintain their pace at the top of the log when they host Chapungu at Mandava Stadium.
The Platinum Boys who played to a 1-1 against Highlanders in their last outing have dominated their opponents of today, winning seven of the ten meetings while drawing the other three games.
Chapungu, on their side, know that a win in this tie will not only end their Midlands rivals’ dominance, but will give them their first victory in eight games.
And speaking ahead of the match, coach Rodwell Dhlakama vowed to break the jinx on all sides.
“We lost to them last season, and I admit that they are good in many aspects, if not all. But look, some things have to end,” Dhlakama said.
“We are ready for this encounter, and I believe we are going to get maximum points and break this dominance once and for all. It’s derby, because they are our midlands compatriots. So, bragging rights and points are stake, of which I believe we are going to do our best and walk away with both.”
Elsewhere, Chicken Inn are looking to bounce back to winning ways when they face a struggling Bulawayo Chiefs side at Luveve Stadium.
Ngezi Platinum Stars will be facing Black Rhinos at Baobab in Mhondoro while Herentals and Hwange lock horns in the capital at the National Sports Stadium.
