The senior and the U20 national sides taking part in the COSAFA competitions have failed to go beyond the semifinal stage.

The Mighty Warriors lost 3-1 to South Africa while the juniors suffered a 1-0 defeat to Zambia.

The U20 team reached the round after finishing second in Group A. The loss was their second at the tournament.

The senior side had a difficult encounter, with South Africa dominating play throughout the game.

The hosts took the lead just after quarter-hour courtesy Bambanani Mbane’s effort before Mavis Chirandu equalised on minute 21. Amanda Mthandi restored the advantage on the stroke of half-time and Busisiwe Ndimeni killed the contest with nine minutes to the full-time.

Zim Mighty Warriors to face Botswana in 3/4th play-off with South Africa setting a date with Zambia in the final of the COSAFA Women Championship.

The final of the U20 tournament will feature Zambia and Tanzania while Zimbabwe and South Africa face each other in the 3/4th play-off.
