Saturday Preview: CLPSL Match-day 20

Darlington Dodo will be hoping to start his tenure as CAPS United boss on a positive note when his side play Chapungu away at Ascot Stadium this afternoon in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match-day 20.

Dodo took over the reins early in the week following the departure of Lloyd Chitembwe who joined cross-town rivals Harare City.

With the team sitting in the second position and one point behind log leaders FC Platinum, the newly appointed gaffer has a chance to steer the team to the summit of the table if he manages a victory in his first assignment.

However, this will not come easy as their opponents are hoping to build from their victory over Black Rhinos in the previous campaign.

Speaking ahead of the match, Dodo said he will try to maintain the pace at the top.

“I will keep leading the ship from where he (Chitembwe) left. I have taken over to just maintain and try to achieve what we had targeted at the beginning of the season.

“I was within the system right from the start and I am not worried. Whatever has been happening at CAPS United, we have been doing it together.”

Elsewhere, Bulawayo Chiefs have a tricky tie ahead of them in the quest to keep their hopes of surviving the relegation alive when they face Black Rhinos.

Amakhosi Amahle are yet to pick a victory against their opponents. They will be hoping to build from the three draws they got from in the previous rounds.

Ngezi Platinum hosts Hwange while Rahman Gumbo gets his reign underway at TelOne against ZPC Kariba.
