Interim Warriors coach Joey ‘Mafero’ Antipas has unraveled why Dynamos striker Evans Katema was left out of the final 18 Warriors squad for the CHAN 2020 return leg qualfier against Lesotho in Maseru on Sunday.
Katema was one of the casualties when the squad was named yesterday and the Chicken Inn coach explaind why that is.
“We are quite confident with the squad that we have. Obviously, we would have wanted all our best players available but one of the key men Evans is not at 100 percent,’’ said Antipas according to The Herald.
“We all know what he is capable of doing and we had to call him into our squad following his recovery from that injury.”
“But he last played competitive football a couple of weeks ago. We need everyone to be at 100 percent when going for such a battle.” he added.
The Warriors carry a 3-1 lead from the first leg and will book a place at the finals in Cameroon next year should they avoid a defeat by two unanswered goals.
