Social media was awash with messages of praise for Zimbabwean coach Norman Mapeza last night after he steered Chippa United out of the relegation zone courtesy of an impressive 1-0 win away to Cape Town City.

The former Warriors captain arrived in Port Elizabeth with the Chilli Boys rooted at the bottom of the table winless in this campaign but three wins in the last four games have changed the situation completely, with last night’s victory seeing them jump from bottom to tenth of the log standings.

Impressed fans took to micro-blogging site Twitter to heap praise on the former FC Platinum gaffer.

”Norman “Nomara” Mapeza doing wonders at Chippa United, Undoubtedly one of the best coaches coming from Zimbabwe and we need him on your hot Thursday chair to tell us about his magic,” posted one Lloyd Mtahwa.

“Norman Mapeza has done very well since joining Chippa United,” posted one VhaKhoMa.

“Actually it should read Norman Mapeza makes it three wins out of four. Just like its done for Mourinho, Ole, Zidane etc,” responded H-Metro editor Larry Moyo on a post by SuperSport TV.

Next up for Mapeza is a showdown with fellow Zimbabwean coach Kaitano Tembo’s SuperSport United.
