CAPS United has issued an apology after failing to win the championship on the last day of the season.

The Green Machine needed a victory in the title-deciding fixture against FC Platinum on Saturday but succumbed to a1-0 defeat. They initially lost the ground at the top in the penultimate round, losing 3-2 to Ngezi Platinum Stars.

The club posted a statement on Social Media saying: “The club wishes to apologise to you all for the results and the team’s poor performance in the last two games. This is not the result we wanted and expected to see.

“On behalf of the players, coaches and management we’re so sorry for the letdown and disappointment. You deserve better than what we saw yesterday.

“We want to also take this opportunity to thank you all for the support you gave the team yesterday and throughout the season both home and away.”
