CAPS United coach Darlington Dodo says losing the title race to FC Platinum on the final day is heartbreaking.

The Green Machine needed a win in their title-deciding match against the Platinum Boys on Saturday but lost 1-0 to finish the 2019 season in the 3rd position.

Speaking after the match, Dodo said: “It’s heartbreaking, after all the good effort that we put from the beginning of the season.

“Unfortunately, we have failed to achieve what we wanted to achieve on the last day.

“The boys tried to give their best, we did not rise to the expectations that we wanted.”

CAPS United who surrendered the top spot in the penultimate round amassed 58 points, four behind winners FC Platinum.

Perfect Chikwende scored the all-important goal in the 60th minute as the Zvishavane-based side took home the title for the third successive time.
