FC Platinum are not interested in playing in the CAF Champions League even if Chicken Inn opt out.
The Zvishavane based side could clinch second place at the weekend and with Chicken Inn reportedly considering not pursuing an African adventure due to financial reasons FC Platinum would have been the next choice.
However speaking to Soccer24 FC Platinum spokesperson Chido Chizondo said, “We have already sat down and decided that we will not be participating in the CAF Champions League even if Chicken Inn opts out and we come second.
“As FC Platinum we want to participate on merit and we would want to play in the competition having won the league title added Chizondo.
FC Platinum played in the CAF Confederations Cup earlier in the year after winning the Chibuku Super Cup.
Last year Dynamos decided against participating in the Champions League as well after their principal sponsor Banc ABC indicated they would not bankroll the club in the African Safari.
