Warriors to hold first training session in DRC

Warriors will conduct their first training session in DRC ahead of the crucial Afcon qualifier in Kinshasa on the 13th of October.

According to H-Metro, team manager Wellington Mpandare says they will arrive three days before the encounter. The move is due to the late arrival of some players who will be in action this weekend.

“We don’t have time for them to camp in Zimbabwe due to travel arrangements,” Mpandare revealed to the newspaper.

“We will fly to DRC on Tuesday and arrive on the same day.”

Belgium- based duo of captain Knowledge Musona and Marvelous Nakamba will join the team a few hours before departure while several South Africa-based players together with Tendayi Darikwa and Alec Mudimu are expected to arrive in the country a day before.

The manager believes the travelling arrangement is beneficial to them as they will spend more time in DRC.

“It’s an advantage to us because will spend more time in DRC, we are leaving on the 9th of October and arrive on the same night ahead of the match which will be played three days later,” Mpandare added.
