Ngezi Platinum Stars are facing a heavy PSL sanction after it has emerged that they travelled to South Africa without a clearance from the League.
PSL wrote to Ngezi on February 22 informing them that the League was not in a position to clear the trip to South Africa as it came at short notice. Madamburo, however, defied the directive and embarked on the two-week tour which the local governing body has since classified it as an “unsanctioned” foreign trip.
Premier Soccer League spokesperson Kudzai Bare has told the Sunday Mail that the league is looking into the matter and will only issue a statement when the team returns in the coming days.
“We are looking into the matter, and will issue a statement once the team returns,” said Bare
On the flip side, Ngezi Platinum have distanced themselves from any wrongdoing saying they, instead, got the clearance letter from the supreme body, the Sports and Recreation Commission.
The Mhondoro-based outfit will round up the tour with a match against SuperSport FC tomorrow.
