Yaya Toure has arrived in China for a trial stint at second tier club, a few days after denying claims by his agent Dimitri Seluk that he has retired from playing football.

The 36-year-old Ivorian has been a free agent since December after an unsuccessful three-month spell at Olympiakos in Greece.

And last week on Friday Seluk revealed the player had hanged his boots, but Yaya refuted the claims two days later saying he still has a few more years in action.

Toure was pictured on Thursday arriving China ahead of a trial stint at Qingdao Huanghai who play in the second division.

A club official has confirmed the news to AFP saying: “He is here for a trial. The coaching team will assess his physical condition and ability to decide whether he is suitable for our team.”
